Among the schools taking part in projects financed by the European Union, Grammar School Nymburk is definitely one of the most active schools in Czech Republic.
The first projects the school took part in were aimed at international cooperation among European schools. Those were projects patronized by the programmes Socrates, Comenius and Arion. Between the years 1997 – 2003, our school has realized five long-term projects, one teacher exchange and one teacher internship program. Grammar School Nymburk is continuously taking part in developing international activities with the help of many international organisations, such as the British Council, Česko-německý fond budoucnosti (Czech-German fund for the future) or the French embassy.
The experience with preparation and administration of projects was utilized in projects financed by European Social Fund and Operační program Rozvoje lidských zdrojů (Human Resources Development Operational Programme) and subsequently in projects by Operační program Vzdělávání pro konkurenceschopnost (Education for Competitiveness Operational Programme)
Participation in these projects, amongst other things, opens up new possibilities in teaching, as the school's equipment improves and teachers go through new teaching programmes. In the end it's mainly students who profit from the school's project activities. They often directly take part in those projects and thus gain invaluable experience they can utilize during their further education.
